Details:

Start with a pickup from your centrally located Limassol hotel. Board your air-conditioned coach and, as you travel, hear from your guide about Paphos and its role as Cyprus’ capital during Roman times.

Catch glimpses of the Temple of Apollo at Curium (Kourion), a revered religious site until the 4th century, and stop for photos at Aphrodite’s Rock (Petra Tou Romiou), the sea rock that legend says was the birthplace of Aphrodite, the goddess of love.

On arrival in Paphos, visit the Tombs of the Kings to explore this age-old necropolis, a burial site for Paphos’ elite in the 3rd century BC. Carved from rock, many tombs are ornately sculpted and have sunken courts where passages lead to the tomb niches. Hear from your guide how families of the dead would hold ceremonial meals here, leaving food for the deceased.

After time to explore independently, continue to the scenic harbor and enjoy free time for lunch (own expense) at any of the waterfront restaurants.

Restart your tour at Paphos Archaeological Park, the home of many prehistoric and Roman relics, including an amphitheater and agora. Enjoy a guided tour of the floor mosaics unearthed in its Roman villas. Admire these sublime artworks, particularly those in the House of Dionysos, which depict the god of wine, Dionysos, and his followers, in rich and colorful detail.

On route back to Limassol, stop in the village of Yeroskipou to visit a loukoumi factory to taste some of these sugar-dusted sweet treats.

Your tour ends with a hotel drop-off.
